Industry News-Lower back pain, slipped disc, & chiropractic care

Posted in: Industry News

Does a disc slip?  Because discs have poor blood supply, circulation is depended upon the joint fluid through motion bringing nutrients and removing wastes.  It is the abnormal motion  and malposition of the spinal joint (vertebrae)  that causes the disc to bulge not really slip.  The pumping of fluids may be impaired, the disc will deteriorate.  A healthy disc is like a wet sponge, and flexible.  A disc may dry and crack when it becomes impaired, and start to wear or narrow.  The disc act as spacers between vertebrae, and nerves. Impinching of the nerves and disc lead to lower back pain. Trauma or injury to the spine can cause discs to bulge, protrude, herniate or rupture. This can lead to severe pain, putting pressure to the spinal cord, and nerve roots.

Chiropractic restores joint motion and position of the vertebrae reducing disc bulging, decreasing nerve pressure or irritation, reducing inflammation, and relieving pain. A slow healing process can begin with chiropractic approach.  The use of a motion table called Flexion-Distraction stretches the spine and helps bring movement to the joints, and fluid nutrients are pumped to the disc.

You can prevent lowerback pain and chronic disc problems from occuring by receiving regular chiropractic adjustments helping your disc be healthy.  Don’t wait until its too chronic, by then there will be permanent damage, and surgery may be needed, and you may become dependent on pain pills.

Dr. Maria E. Manibog DC, specializes in the flexion-distraction motion adjusting technique for disc problems.  It is a gentle stretch, and pumping of the discs.  Gentle drops allow alignment of the vertebrae, restoring position, and motion to the joints, thereby relieving pain.   Call for a FREE Spinal Consultation at (510) 357-1351.
