Industry News-Chiropractic for the Pregnant Woman

Women are at risk in early C-sections.  Deliveries at 38 weeks produce four times the risk of serious complications compared with procedures done after 39 weeks. The initiation of labor is a baby’s way of signaling that it is ready to live outside their mother’s womb.  But doctors schedule elective C-sections when babies are not ready to make that transition and are forced to do so.

Midwives, and chiropractors have teamed up to make this a more natural transition for the baby and mother.  Chiropractic helps in alleviating the tremendous stresses placed on the musculoskeletal system. These changes most frequently may cause back, and neck pain at some point during pregnancy.  An Obstetrics & Gynecolog study found more than half nurse-midwives recommend chiropractic to their patients.  Chiropractic helps with the pelvic adjustments to help balance the hips and pelvis, and prepares your back for the stresses of labor and delivery. Midwives help in prenatal, postpartum care, home birth, labor support for hospital birth, and holistic, culturally-sensitive care.   Dr. Maria E. Manibog DC has a private practice, Health For Life Chiropractic, located in downtown San Leandro, at 369 Juana Ave. We specialize in pregnancy adjusting techniques, and provide on-site midwifery service.  Please contact  (510) 357-1351 for a Complimentary Health Consultation with Dr. Maria.  Generation Midwifery Service will offer a FREE One Hour Consultation, please contact (510) 708-6741.
