Massage therapy is used as an adjunct to chiropractic treatments.  Spinal misalignments known as subluxations or under a dislocation of the vertebrae,  may affect muscle, and nerve function.  In our office it is our philosophy to restore the nerve function first, then followed by massage.  Muscles are attached to bone by ligaments, and tendons.  When a vertebrae or joint is misaligned the muscle may pull, tighten, and spasm.  Between the vertebraes are the disc for shock absorption and space for the nerve openings.  Misalignments may twist and push the disc and pinch the nerves.  This in turn may irritate the nerve and muscle it leads to, causing pain, inflammation, and irritation of the area.  Chiropractic corrects the misalignment restoring nerve function, and muscles will be more relaxed, and massage therapy will be more affective, and therapeutic.  The therapist will work with less effort, but effective, giving a more thorough, and relieving massage.
