Oil changes are an excellent check-in time for your vehicle so that your mechanic can spot any warning signs of potential problems. As ASE-certified mechanics, we always perform a full inspection with oil changes. Oil changer employees have no training other than oil changes. Our technicians will thoroughly inspect for conditions that could cause you a problem. Grease fittings will be lubricated as part of our service.

We use top-quality oil from quart bottles and the finest-grade oil filters. Lower viscosity oil flows more readily at cold temperatures. Higher viscosity oil is better at holding oil pressure at high temperatures and not breaking down under stress. Thin oils lessen friction in engines and facilitate quick starts during cold weather. Since light oils such as 0W20 reduce friction in the engine, many manufacturers specify this oil in all temperature ranges to improve gas mileage.

Cheaper oil filters may break down between changes clogging your lubrication system. Quality oil filters will last longer and trap smaller dirt particles.

Oil changer businesses take oil from a 55-gallon drum open to the air. This results in your car being filled with partially contaminated oil.

Motor oil becomes less effective at lubricating your engine over time and driving miles. The engine oil filter collects most damaging particles. Still, contaminants too small to be removed by the filter accumulate in the oil until it is drained and refilled. Therefore, old oil is less effective at providing lubrication to your engine and contributes to wear.

Your owner’s manual will contain oil service and all preventative maintenance intervals to prevent premature wear. Following service, the oil change reminders need to be reset; we take pride in all the small details, including updating service reminders.

Every other fill-up, you should check the oil level. When the oil level is down to the minimum mark, add a quart. Many cars don’t burn oil; others need a top-off much sooner. The important thing is to have enough oil in your car. Don’t assume this is unnecessary just because you have a new car.

The recommended viscosity of your car’s motor oil will be printed on the oil filler cap; it will also be listed in the owner’s manual. There is no need for synthetic oil in most engines. If your engine is constructed to require synthetic oil, that information will be in your owner’s manual. We will not try to sell you high-priced oil you don’t need.

Old oil may turn into sludge, a combination of oil and contaminants that blocks efficient lubrication. Synthetic oil resists this problem, which is why some makers recommend it. Oil changes should be done at the manufacturer’s recommendation.

You can rely on our technician for guidance regarding what oil to use, how often to change it, and how to proceed with whatever maintenance we recommend following our inspection.
