Banners are seen everywhere, from sporting events to parades and more. Let’s look at some of our banner products that could perhaps help promote your next big event.

What is a Banner?

A banner is a large piece of fabric or vinyl with text and images. Banners are designed to hang from structures and displayed on walls. They are often used for temporary promotions and events but can also be used as permanent signs in the right environment. Banners are meant to be seen from a distance, so they are usually printed with large fonts and bright colors.

Types of Banners

Perforated banners are made with thousands or millions of tiny holes to allow air and light to pass through. It makes them partially see-through, especially in bright locations. They are perfect for outdoor use as the banner won’t be ripped by the wind. They are commonly seen hanging from fences, between objects like light posts, and in sports arenas.

Double-Sided banners, as the name suggests, are banners printed on both sides, making them visible from the front and back. They are commonly used for outdoor events like food festivals and craft shows.

Step and repeat banners show an image and text repeatedly across the banner. The image is designed to be subtle but easy to see. These are commonly seen as backdrops for pictures and in “red carpet” style events.

Retractable banners, sometimes called pull-ups or roll-ups, are unique double-sided banners designed for easy setup and portability. They are one of the most popular banner products for indoor use, especially at trade shows and conventions. They come in their own carrying case and can be set up in seconds by pulling them from the base.

Banner stands are typically vertical banners held up by a stand. They are commonly seen at pop-up locations like book signings, conventions, meet and greets, and more.

Banner Finishes and Display Options

Grommets: Small metal rings are sewn into the fabric of the banner, typically in the corners. These allow easy hanging with rope, zip ties, and nails. Larger banners have more grommets along the edges to ensure the banner will not droop when hung.

Flush Cut: The edges are finished with a clean cut. These are perfect for indoor uses and provide a professional look to the banner.

Welded Hem: The ends of the banner are fused with a heat press. This makes the banner extremely durable and less likely to fray. This is a common finish used in conjunction with grommets for added strength.

Pole Pockets: Pockets are sewn into the banner on any of the four sides. These allow for a pole to slide easily into the banner. These are commonly seen in places such as parades and at sporting events.
