Custom Hanging Blade Sign in Washington, DC for the World Famous Loews Madison Hotel

We were contacted a while back by Loews Madison Hotel in Washington, DC.  They were renovating their restaurant and bringing in Iron Chef Jose Garces to help launch it.  They called us because they wanted us to install multiple window graphics, a front lit channel letter sign and a blade sign.  In this article, we are reviewing the blade sign.

In the picture above, you can see the blade sign that we fabricated for the hotel’s restaurant.  Blade signs are great for locations where visibility of a typical outdoor building sign would be limited.  For these situations we create these blade signs, which can be suspended above a busy walkway or alley.  The idea is that these signs will more easily catch the attention of passersby – on foot or in a vehicle.  People who are walking by will be able to easily see where the entrance to your business is located, and they will also be able to see your logo and name from much further down the street.

In addition, these blade signs can also be a great opportunity to create a one of a kind sign that people will not soon forget. These types of signs can be custom cut out of a range of materials, yielding an endless amount of possibilities of what a blade sign can look like. This blade sign, as you can see in the image in this article, has a blue background with white and gray lettering and trim work. The white lettering against the darker blue background helps to make the sign much more visible, especially from longer distances.

The Loews Madison Hotel was opened by President John F. Kennedy in 1963 and has welcomed every president since. It’s a hotel that caters to top-of-the-line customers and is a four star gem that we recommend trying if you are in the area.
