Posted in: Client Examples

With so many people wanting to move to our beautiful state of Texas, the growth for new business also moving to our area is exponential. Many franchise owners realize the potential for advancement and success in Fort Bend and Harris Counties. They are opening new stores all over and expect quick turnarounds from building the location to acquiring their permits and signs. We may not be a national company, but we know our local area and work towards helping our local economy. This allows us to turn around jobs quicker than some of the larger national companies in our area. Stanton Optical who owns Eye Lab, were very happy that we could not only turn around the time to print and install their sign quickly but how great the cost was as well.

Franchise Rules & Regulations

Franchise owners are great business for sign companies as many of them have a plan to open multiple locations. There are some stipulations though, as most franchises have specific regulations and brand guidelines to follow. These are not suggestions. They need to be exact from the text or logo placement to the colors. They also usually, but not always, will provide the print ready files. If they do not, you may need to get multiple approvals from the franchise owner, the HOA, the city or county and corporate. This can add a lot of time sending designs back and forth. We familiarize ourselves with all the guidelines and branding to diminish the chance for error.

Permits

Most cities and counties require permitting for most signs. If you are lucky, you are in an incorporated area that doesnt require permitting on any types of signs. You can receive your signs much quicker than those who must wait until permit approvals for their sign fabrication to even begin. We were lucky with this current location as permitting was not required so we were able to turn it around pretty fast.

Design & Printing

Even though the design came from corporate, there were a few different people who needed to sign off on the final design. When you enter more than one person into the mix, delays can ensue pretty easily. Having many different opinions to contend with is not ideal but sometimes necessary in this situation. Keeping communication open and organizing the multiple emails that may go back and forth is part of the job. Ensuring the correct final version is moving forward to the printer is imperative. You definitely don’t want to print the 3rd version on their sign instead of the correct 7th version. We have an online portal system in which the latest design version is easily uploaded for the client to approve or ask for changes right there within the portal. This eliminates the confusing back and forth of emails and trying to figure out which version is the latest and what new changes may need to be applied.

We know how stressful it can be to open a business and work hard daily to have the sign portion of it all stress free for the owners. Give us a phone call today and we will show you how we can help keep your sign experience a good one. 832-222-9385
