Oregon camp wedding photography, camp Namanu – Portland wedding photographer

Posted in: Client Examples

Tess and Paul got married at Camp Namanu in Sandy Oregon. Their wedding was beautiful and full of fun!  Inspired by Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom they made a camp map and had a camp flag, and lanterns, and colored material banners and a whisky bar to boot! They even had their own camp mugs designed and made to have a “first toast” out of just after their first look. It was so much to be the photographer for this amazing wedding celebration! I love rolling around the forest camp trails with them on go carts before the wedding. We almost popped a wheelie off the trail at one point! It was WILD! We got to take bride and groom photos down by the Sandy river, on the river rocks, on the forest trails, in the treehouse, and in the big field in front of the lodge. Being based out of Portland, I really love to travel outside of the city to all that the pacific northwest has to offer. Camp weddings are so special and sweet. I used to attend summer camp every summer on the Mckenzie river just outside of Eugene. I loved the campfires and story telling and arts and crafts and even the camp cooking to be honest! It was always so special to be away in the summer weather with friends, old and new. Using a theme like that for your wedding brings your guests in already feeling happy and fuzzy memories… ready to party and celebrate and basque the glow of the August sunset.
