Perforated Vinyl Window Graphics Offer A Way To Utilize Window Space While Allowing Light Through – East Bay Area

Posted in: Industry News

Perforated vinyl window graphics.

Sounds like a little bit of technical jargon, right?

Actually, these are very common.  Most of the time when you see any kind of graphics installed on a window, they’re perforated.  Fast food places, malls, retail stores; the list goes on and on.

So what is a perforated window graphic?

Perforate – (n.) –

perforated  past participle, past tense of per·fo·rate (Verb)

Verb
  1. Pierce and make a hole or holes in.
  2. Make a row of small holes in (paper) so that a part may be torn off easily.

A perforated window graphic is one that has holes in it.  Holes to allow some light to pass through, while at the same time, keeping enough of the material to apply vivid graphics that will pop and look great.

And, of course, let light through.

A few examples of these can be seen in the images in this article.  The image above is at a local mall, with our client, Barons Jewelers, featured in the windows above the entrance.  They recently moved to a new location, and wanted to take advantage or their new store front.

A second example of perforated vinyl window graphics is another client of ours, Medical Arts Pharmacy, in San Leandro, CA.  They wanted to attract the attention of people driving by with large, vibrant graphics, but again, make sure not to block all light from reaching the inside.

Often, perforated window graphics will have openings, or cuts in the vinyl, based on the particular graphic, which allow people to see out completely from the inside.
