Computer Service Advice – What brand computer to buy

Posted in: Industry News

Computer Sales and Service wants to quiz you on your computer knowledge. Which component is used by which brand of computer?

Brand

Component

Apple

Hard Drives (Seagate/Western Digital)

Acer

Processor – (Intel/AMD)

Dell

Memory – (Micron/Samsung)

HP

Optical Drive – (Philips/LG)

Lenovo (formerly IBM)

Motherboard – (Asus/MSI)

Toshiba

LCD Panel – (Samsung)

The correct answers? This is a trick question! All of these brands use all these components. Also, the computer companies (Apple, Dell, etc.) do not design or build these components. Instead, the computer companies purchase these components from manufacturers (some listed above in parentheses) and assemble their final product. Typically, each brand will buy their components from more than one manufacturer. The result is that most computers are surprisingly similar when looking inside the case.

That’s why we work on all brands of computers at Computer Sales & Service. We feel it’s more important to look at what your computing needs are than focusing on just one brand of computer. We also know from experience and research which manufacturers build the highest quality components. We provide computers that do what you need them to do – and keep them working for you.

Next week at Computer Sales and Service, we’ll talk about how you can protect your data.
