We were contacted by Pamela H. who works for a non profit in Richmond, CA. She was looking to install an Internet network for their new office building. She was on a deadline to complete the project over one weekend, and called us with an urgent request. We understood how important it was for them to get their VOIP and Internet installed so they could do business on Monday.
To install the over 1700 feet of cable, first we had to measure out the runs from the patch panel to the individual locations where the cables are plugged in. These cables, which are the industry standard cat6 cable, typically run through the walls, underneath floors, or in this case, in the ceiling. The cables are held up by raceways that carry the wires to the various locations throughout the building. We installed a 24 port patch panel where all the cables meet up.
This type of network is used to provide access throughout a building or other location where there are a lot of users accessing the Internet simultaneously, and can be utilized when wireless security is a concern. Now every room is wired up and employees have full access to Internet and phone lines through the VOIP system.
