If you think about it, it’s a little bit strange that people don’t pay more attention, and take more seriously, the potential for skin damage and skin cancer while they are inside their homes.

When people go to the beach, they are very aware of the potential sun damage that they can get from ultraviolet rays. They put on high SPF levels of suntan lotion to prevent the sun from penetrating their skin. And if they have children, they go to great lengths to make sure that the sun can’t potentially harm the little ones.

So, it seems a little bit odd that people go to great lengths to protect themselves from potentially harmful sun rays, but they typically don’t do anything when indoors to protect themselves.

In fact, it is just as easy to experience skin damage and potentially even skin cancer from extensive exposure to the sun while indoors as it is outdoors. Obviously, when you are outdoors you are more exposed to the sun, but prolonged periods of sun exposure while indoors can also lead to skin damage and cancer.

Window tinting film can be placed on windows in order to filter out the harmful UV rays that cause cancer. While some people may think that window tinting actually changes the color of the windows, and the look of the exterior of a house or building, not all window films are tinted. For people that want to receive the benefits of protection from UV rays from a window film, while keeping the windows the same color, they just need to specify what kind of look they are going for or think would look best.  The client gets to choose what color, if any, they would like in their window film.

For those that don’t have window film on their home or business, you may have seen fading to carpets, flooring, sofas or other furnishings. The sun can easily fade objects and even cause cracking and extreme damage with enough exposure. If you have a room in your home that has a lot of sunlight, like a sitting or reading room, you may want to consider window film to protect you from ultraviolet rays. You can still allow all the light in, but without the harmful non-visible ultra violet rays that can lead to skin cancer. If you own a business, window tinting films can filter out the unwanted UV rays and help protect your clients or patrons while they are in your establishment.
