Custom Acrylic Lobby Sign in Charlotte, NC for Brian Center Retirement Community

Breathe_opt (6)We were recently contacted by Brian Center, located in South Charlotte, because they needed a lobby sign and a directional sign for their new wing at their retirement community. They already had the logo designed and just needed some help with different ideas and types of signs that are available. The first idea was to just place vinyl onto the wall, while this was an option, it was not a good option because, it would look to inexpensive and did not present the idea that they wanted to get across. Next we talked about the use of clear acrylic with vinyl on top and while this was a step in the right direction, it still needed a little more to it. So what we decided to do was to make the logo and the larger text out of the  1/4″ thick acrylic and place that on top of the clear acrylic. This gave it a three dimensional look and we were able to keep it cost effective as well as looking very classy.

Once we decided on the materials we then discussed the shape of the sign. At first I thought we should make it a rectangle, but one of the maintenance supervisors, recommended that we make the corners round. This way no one could cut themselves, if they were to fall into any of the signs. So the for the final project we ended up making the signs in an oval shape with the logo raised and cut vinyl for the lettering. The reason we used cut vinyl for the lettering was due to the size of the letters, it was not practical or cost effective to laser cut such small letters.

As you can see from the image below, this sign looks very nice and upscale. This was a sign that was placed at the entrance to the building, there was another one like this that was placed by the actual center and one with an arrow giving people directions to the unit.
