Our Lady of Sorrow Refurbished Monument Sign

Posted in: Recent Projects

When we were contacted by Our Lady of Sorrows earlier this year, we wanted to put our best foot forward for this beautiful church constructed in the early 1920s.  While the inside was stunning, they needed a new monument sign to welcome community members to their church.

The first step in our process was to manufacture and paint a double-sided cabinet with “Header” and Vandal-Proof “Reader” sections.  We used SignComp Aluminum Extrusions to build the cabinet components and assembled them with LORD adhesives and mechanical fasteners.

Because our team members are sticklers for consistency and high-quality, we performed a custom paint match of “Mother Mary Blue” using an industrial line of acrylic primer and paint.

The “Header” panel was manufactured using aluminum composite panel with ¼” Laser-cut acrylic dimensional letter. The “Reader” board is made up of aluminum composite panel with digitally-printed vinyl and protective overlaminate with mechanically-installed letter-change tracks.

On to the installation!

Before we could install the newly-designed monument sign, we had to remove and dispose of the old cabinet.  Internally on our new cabinet, we built custom structural components to fit with the old brick base.

Once the installation of the new monument sign was completed, all that was left was for passersby to take notice.  We were honored to work with such a generous organization and proud of the work we did to honor the beauty of this historic church.

If you have signage that needs updating, contact the expert team at Forerunner Signs and Graphics.  From concept to creation to installation, we’re there for you every step of the way!
