Lakewood Way Custom Monument Sign With EMC Board with Internally Illuminated Header

Posted in: Recent Projects

When Lakewood Way Community Church contacted us, they had a large request and we were happy to oblige.  They didn’t just want a standard monument sign for their organization, they wanted a high-quality monument sign that served as a rotating billboard and we had just the solution. A Custom Monument Sign with EMC Board with an Internally Illuminated Header.

The first step to meeting their needs was the design and planning phase.  We communicated with them openly about what they wanted to see as their finished project.  We listened, provided suggestions and got to work on the planning phase.

When we enter this step in the process, we take into account the weight and the size of the sign.  We begin planning the structural elements of the projects, everything from what materials can and should be used to the complexities of running power to the sign.

Next, we began to manufacture the components of the sign – looking at the size, weight and wind load.  All the while, we had to consider the sign’s internal structure and integrity.

For the EMC panel –  with full-motion, programmable picture capabilities – we had to install a Wi-Fi router inside the panel that connects to a designated laptop computer.  This allow the church staff to update their sign at any time.  A special pot-luck dinner?  Bam! They could promote it to the masses.  A heartfelt message to the community?  At the flip of a switch, their message could change.  What a great asset to their brand!

Once we completed the manufacturing stage, we moved on to installation of the sign.  First, we dug and poured a footing and built a stone base.  We then installed the sign to the stone base.  It took three of our experts and a 15,000 pound material lift to get the sign right where it needed to be.

The highlight of the sign?  The lighting!  We hooked the LED- illuminated and digital sign to its power source and made sure everything was in working order.  As we do with all of these projects, we trained the great people at Lakewood Way Community Church how to operate their new sign.

When you drive by the church, be sure to take a look at their sign.  After all, you never know what great events are in store that you don’t want to miss!
