Dimensional Lettering Installation for Anytime Fitness

Recently, we were contacted by a great group of people at Anytime Fitness for a site survey and installation of a dimensional lettering sign.  Anytime Fitness is a supportive, community that caters to people of all levels of fitness and conveniently operates 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. With more than 3,000 franchise locations worldwide, Anytime Fitness is opening all over the metro.

The initial call requested a site survey, which entails getting the scope of work and taking some measurements. Since this gym was already in operation; the staff at Anytime Fitness needed some immediate assistance on a project at hand.

Typically, when opening a franchise, company signage is created and subcontracted to area sign companies to manage the installation procedure. Fortunately, Forerunner Signs & Graphics was selected for their Dimensional Lettering.

The dimensional lettering itself is ½ inch thick front painted clear acrylic. Using the company logo and colors, the CNC Router could cut their name and logo precisely. The main entry wall was constructed by beautiful limestone brick of variant shapes and sizes. Because the wall was built out of decorative block facia, it has various depths, grooves and is not a flat surface. This created a challenging installation process.

First, we started out by taping a pen plotted pattern to the wall, then drilling holes about 3-4 inches into the wall where the stud mounts attach to the back face of the acrylic lettering. With a very uneven surface like this one, it is very easy to install a sign unevenly. To ensure that the face of the sign is flush and level, we used spacers in some areas and not in others. Anytime Fitness wanted their signage to have some amazing dimension to correspond with the variant levels of depth in their wall.
