Vehicle Graphics Sign Project for Snap-On of Oceanside, CA – North County San Diego

Posted in: Industry News

Signs for San Diego announced opening for business July 23rd (http://www.signsforsandiego.com/news-releases/) and has been busy.  One of the examples is a Snap-On truck they are particular proud of. Kyle Spoelstra is a second generation Snap-On dealer. Kyle found a great truck and wanted to use it – buying used and avoiding the depreciation on the newer trucks. Kyle works the Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad, area.

Vehicle Wrap, Oceanside Vehicle Graphics

A happy owner

Signs for San Diego took the truck over the weekend and transformed it into the Snap-On truck Kyle wanted.

Snap-On is a true American Icon, and the history of these trucks dates back to the 1920s. Snap-On was founded by 3 people in Milwaukee. At the time, tool makers sold through a series of distributors nationwide. These distributors met in Chicago for their conversion and the 2 key Snap-On owners went there to sell the tool line.  They got the cold shoulder from each and every distributor. Rejected, the traveled back by train and came up with the idea of a traveling sales vehicle. The Snap-On truck was born.

Today these trucks are owned by independent franchisees and they continue the personal service Snap-On is known for. The Vehicle Graphics are a mobile bill board advertising the business along the route.  This is not only effective, it is being copied by all kinds of service companies.

Advertising on the a Car wrap or a Van wrap is effective. More people see this form of advertising than notice emails, direct mails or building signs. It also hits the exact places where the company does business now. It is a smart idea for Snap-On, for Kyle and it could be your most effective advertising dollar as well.  To read more about this, contact Signs for San Diego at 760-730-5118 http://www.signsforsandiego.com/

I would like to introduce you to Kyle Spoelstra. I recently had the good fortune of working on the graphics of Kyle’s truck. Kyle is an up and coming source of Snap-On Tools.  His sales area is Oceanside, Vista and Carlsbad, California. Kyle is a 2nd generation Snap-On tool dealer, Dad taught the son well.

Snap-On is an American icon.  In the 1920s, 3 guys had an idea and that idea is now a in Fortune’s top 1000 US companies. (736th in 2012).  Snap-On has a true under dog story. They were rejected by the tool distribution companies at the time.  They wanted to lock Snap-On out of the market, but Snap-On took on the distribution challenge.  They started with one traveling salesman in Chicago. He traveled to mechanic after mechanic and sold sockets and handles.  These were well received and the traveling Snap-On dealer was born.

Kyle travels to each of his customers and provides tools to them.  Snap-On has never been the cheapest tools.  They are widely recognized as the best, the highest quality but also the most innovative. Snap-On is the silent innovator. For nearly 100 years, they have sold tools to allow mechanical repairs to be made faster and easier. Mechanics do not buy Snap-On for the price, they buy because the tools are easier to use and do jobs they other tools can not. The specialty tools tailor solutions to assembly and adjustment problems. Every major mechanic’s shop in the US has Snap-On tools.

So next time you see a huge Snap-On truck on the streets in North County, it is probably Kyle, providing another solution for your mechanic.
