Learn What’s Not Included in Weekly Pool Service

Posted in: Industry News

Last week we discussed what is included in our weekly pool service.  This week we will discuss what’s not.  That’s right – even if you have a weekly pool service company, there are still homeowner responsibilities that will need to be attended to.  They are:

· Keep water in pool at proper level – if you allow the water level to get too low, you will effectively render the skimmer useless and your pool will not filter.  Also, you risk the chance of burning your equipment up.

· Maintain all equipment in proper working condition – obviously no weekly pool service company can keep your pool clean and in good condition if the equipment is broken or not operating correctly.  When problems arise, you will save yourself money in the long run by repairing them immediately.

· Remove any non-automated covers or blankets and toys, etc. from pool prior to our visits – solar blankets are great for saving on energy and keeping some debris out of the pool, but when they are removed all the debris on top of the cover gets in the pool.  We need it to sink to the bottom so we can skim or vacuum it out.  Sinking can take hours, so removing your cover in the morning ensures we can do our job when we get there.

· Make sure all gates are unlocked on your service day and dogs are secure, even if you are home – we come on the same day every week, so make sure we can get in.  If we can’t, then your pool won’t be serviced but you will still be charged for the visit.  No one wants that to happen.

· Notify The Pool Doctor immediately if any problems or concerns arise – as stated above, the sooner we correct issues the less problems you’ll have.
