Multiple Drains Virginia Graeme Baker Act

Posted in: Industry News

Most people know that if you have only one main drain in a public swimming pool or spa you must install a Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS) in order to be in compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Act.

However, if you have multiple drains, consider installing an SVRS on each drain as a safety precaution. One of the drains can become blocked by leaves/debris/toys/towels, etc., however, the pool or spa system will appear to be functioning normally as there is still at least one functioning outlet.

An SVRS prevents body and limb entrapment on all pool or spa main drains, preventing severe injury or death.

Contact The Pool Doctor, your Bay Area VGB specialist, today to set up a site inspection to determine what you need to do to be in compliance with the Virginia Graeme Baker Act. 510-223-7537.
