Oakland, CA- Is The New Year Really The Best Time For A Resolution, Hypnotherapy

Posted in: Videos

Happy New Year! I’m actually doing a couple things out in nature today. I’m clearing my head. I’m connecting spiritually to the land. I have my dogs with me, my spiritual guides, and I’m continuning to reflect on my accomplishments and challenges last year. Reflection is a crucial part of how I will continue growing, personally and professionally, in 2021.

I’m here contemplating the beginning of the year, because for me, I’m more interested in working with the seasons. The first of the year is a very interesting time to start a New Year’s resolution, because we’re in the dark phase of the season.

The dark phase of the year means we’ve moved into an introspective time. This means we’re in a more introspective state. The energy is Yin. December 21st was the first day of winter where we’re meant to go inward. It’s more efficient to work with the energy of the season, like going with the flow of the river rather than attempting to paddle upstream.

In February, there’s a special day where you start to feel the beginning of the Spring energy. The celebration is called Imbolic, and happens on February 1st. It celebrates the half-way point between Winter and Spring. Spring is when the energies turn to Yang. It’s when the sun comes back to us in the Northern Hemisphere. The Spring Equinox happens on March 20th, 2021.

{ “Fire and purification were an important part of the festival. The lighting of candles and fires represented the return of warmth and the increasing power of the Sun over the coming months. A spring cleaning was also customary. Holy wells were visited at Imbolc, and at the other Gaelic festivals of Beltane and Lughnasa.” Wikipedia }

Now, I’m all about following the energy, so if you’re ready to get started with a goal, by all means, do it. However, if you interested in creating based on flow and timing, then I highly recommend learning how to be more deeply connected with nature and her cycles. When you tune into nature, youi’ll witness her wisdom of effortless right timing, which allows you to tap into your intuitiion with ease, joy and playfulness.
