Shelter in Place Safely:  No Stress, No Mess

As the COVID-19 outbreak turned into a pandemic, we, along with the rest of the Bay Area, made efforts to lessen the spread of the virus by sheltering in place. Following shelter in place guidelines does not mean we should stop celebrating those special milestones and moments in our lives. Birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, wedding showers, and other celebrations simply should not end because we are practicing physical distancing. We can work together to celebrate these memorable moments in life while staying safe. That’s why we are working hard to make sure that folks in our community will still be able to share life’s celebrations while we are facing this pandemic. Please let us make your next shelter in place gathering as enjoyable as possible!

As the shelter in place order starts to lift, we’d like to remind you to be cautious and safe because the coronavirus is still out there. Please continue to wear masks and limit unnecessary interactions.  Please continue to follow the shelter in place orders.

Anniversaries and Birthday Celebrations

Celebrating life’s biggest parties, tailoring to you and your needs is essential. Since the shelter in place, we have catered for many important holidays including Easter and Mother’s Day. Recently we catered a 30th backyard birthday party, a 45th-anniversary dinner for two, as well as a birthday dinner for an elderly couple whose daughter treated them to a meal. The daughter asked us to prepare dessert for four different households so they could toast the guest of honor from the safety of their homes via video chat and share the same dessert. 

Last week, John & Blanca chose us to cater their 25th-anniversary celebration. We were honored to be selected by a couple close to our hearts. In 1995, while working as a professional photographer, Dawn had the opportunity to take John & Blanca’s wedding photos, so serving them once again at this celebration was quite a blessing. The host had this to say: “We just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and had Chef Marty and his sidekick Dawn cater our event for 18 people … It was a most sumptuous and beautifully presented variety of perfect appetizers for an afternoon garden soirée! Everything from the original planning and suggestions by Dawn to the preparation and presentation by Chef Marty was magnificent! Our guests just couldn’t get enough of the Beef Wellington, the mushroom empanadas, the bruschetta, the chicken skewers. I could go on and on and on as did the delicious food! We will definitely use Aurora Catering for future events!”
