What will get attention? What will be successful? What tools will help?
Of course these things are a bit interchangeable, depending on your audience. But with every event you should not be dependent strictly on verbal exchange of information. Many people are visual learners. Tools that help convey messages and visual communications are often the most memorable. So, what can help you get started?

  • Make sure you greet clients and have fantastic way-finding signage. Nothing is worse than walking in somewhere unsure of where to go and if you are in the right place.
  • Make something pop. Whether it be some digital changing information or a 3 Dimensional Logo. Changing information can often keep attention as it streams through multiple messages, while 3 Dimensional signage pops just because it literally sticks out.
  • Promotional or branded items clients can take home, makes for a memorable memento. Hopefully they are useful and something the client will often find themselves reusing so your brand continues to stick around and remind them of your products. Pens, Notepads, Flash drives, Coffee or sports bottles are all great ideas. Often, I keep a certain pen around because I love the quality and the way it writes, regardless of what is says on the pen– so don’t be so quick to just buy the cheapest items. Think about what you keep around and why. Also, you probably don’t want your brand to be associated with products that are of a lesser quality.
  • Make sure you have some interactive pieces. Something that wants to make your clients share or post on social media, tag with hashtags, share on their walls or your companies. Contests or giveaways for the best photo with your product often times gets you a lot of media “airplay” for a small “prize” investment.
  • In-person raffles. What keeps people excited and at an event longer? The excitement of possibly winning some decent prizes. This also gets you the opportunity to gather more information from guests who may be more of a target market for your services or products if they are not already all clients.
