Hand Painted Lettering for Downey High School in Modesto, CA

Project:  Interior logo hand painted in high school gymnasium

One of the more recent exciting projects at City Signs was an on site custom painting job. Downey High School in Modesto, CA has hand painted signs surrounding the interior of their school gymnasium with the names of all the schools that participate in their league. Modesto Christian, another local high school, had recently joined their particular league and so Downey needed to add their school name to the gym interior.

City Signs surveyed the location and took measurements and pictures of the existing signs so we could match the other school names. After the design was created, proofed and approved, one of our designers traveled to paint the logo on site. A pounce pattern is used to create a chalk outline and then each color is painted individually with an oil based lettering paint. As you can see the new Modesto Christian sign is a perfect fit with what already exists in the gym.
