Midland, GA – Growth Strategies from a Financial Advisor Business Coach

Posted in: Industry News

As a Financial Advisor, building growth can be challenging. This type of work requires a lot of interaction with potential and existing clients. Because of this, it can be difficult to dedicate the time required to analyze your business methods and obtain maximum growth.

My name is Wayne Townsend and I’m a certified FocalPoint Business and Executive Coach. I have over 20 years of experience in the business world and can help you grow your company.

I work with Financial Advisors to help them create focus, process, and accountability to profitably grow their business. I also offer workshops and seminars as it is my passion to assist others and help organizations thrive.

Below I have outlined three basic strategies to jumpstart your growth.

Defining Your Goal

Setting a goal for yourself may seem obvious and rudimentary, but it is the most important step in growing your business. I have found that many professionals don’t have a goal in mind and instead a vague idea of what they want to achieve. You cannot reach a goal if it doesn’t exist. Ask yourself, “What is the purpose of my work? What do I want out of this?”

Once you have a goal in place, you then have direction. It is very difficult to grow a business without direction.

Also, keep in mind that goals aren’t always concrete and there is always room for adjustments down the line.

Supporting Your Goal

Once you have a clear objective outlined you can begin implementing supporting initiatives. When faced with a decision to make, whether it is choosing to bring on a new client or investing in new marketing material, evaluate whether that item is going to help you achieve your goal. If it isn’t, then you should rethink its purpose.

Note that not every decision will directly impact your goal; it can indirectly impact it as well. For example, let’s say the decision in front of you is whether or not to turn the AC down in the summer. Whatever you decide may not directly support your goal of bringing on 20 more clients this month, but what it will do is create a more welcoming environment for employees and potential clients, indirectly supporting your goal.

Personalize Marketing

As a Financial Advisor, you really have to sell yourself. We aren’t a piece of flashy new technology that someone can take back to the store if they don’t like the way it looks. We’re individuals specializing in human-to-human interaction and relationship building.

We will dive a little further into what this looks like in my business coaching, but a great place to start is industry-specific LinkedIn channels. These are great places to network and give your potential clients a little insight into what makes you a great Financial Advisor.
