Pink Building Wrap for Breast Cancer Awareness Month for Gordie Boucher Ford West Bend Wisconsin

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and what better way to recognize the month than by wrapping the face of a building in bright pink. Our customer, Gordie Boucher Ford Lincoln in West Bend contacted us about doing this we jumped at the opportunity. The Gordie Boucher dealerships have always had a strong social conscience and what a great way to help bring attention to a worthy cause.

The building face measures just over 30′ tall and 18′ wide with gaps in the panels every 48″ which made the installation a bit of a challenge, especially from 30′ up!  We started by making sure that the surface was clean and dry. Given the previous 5 days prior to installing it rained EVERY day, we were very fortunate.  We started on the top and dropped 8′ panels of vinyl working from top down.  When we worked the material into place, we decided to use a “wrap glove” instead of a squeegie.  The glove is a very smooth material designed not to scratch the vinyl. Plus, it gives our installer direct feel for how the vinyl is going down. It also allows us to work the vinyl around the edges,  which helps with the attachment of the vinyl. The material we used was 3M 1080 Gloss Hot Pink. This material is made to wrap vehicles so it’s perfect for this type of application as the adhesive will hold for a long time but when we need to remove it, it will come off clean and not leave any adhesive behind.  If you notice in the picture, we cut seams in the vinyl moving from left to right to allow the vinyl to contract or expand. This way the vinyl won’t pull away from the surface and will look this good for as long as Gordie Boucher decides they want the vinyl up.
