20151013_151329 (002)  One of the most exciting things that Optimum Signs does is to help companies fix problems that they have.  That was the case when Julie from All Saints Catholic Church in Milwaukee contacted us.  She had been trying to get a sign company to come out and suggest a way to let the neighborhood know about the food pantry that they run plus promote the schedule for masses at the church.  She also needed signage for inside the building to help direct people to the different areas of the church.

We started out with the design. Julie had done most of this for us and she knew what she wanted.  Our part was to determine the best way to display the signs and determine a solid material for the different applications.  We decided that a post and panel design using aluminum signs for the two main exterior signs would give the church the longevity that they were looking for.  As for the interior signs, there was no reason to use aluminum as these signs weren’t going to be subjected to the elements. A simple 3mm Sintra provided the perfect substrate for the interior signs.  Because we were digging into the flowerbed and pouring several hundred pounds of concrete, we needed to make sure that there weren’t any buried power lines, water lines, phone lines or cable TV lines. The only way to ensure this was to get the folks at Digger’s Hotline onsite to mark any possible buried lines.  When we received the all clear, we proceeded to dig the holes and plant a full sized 4″ x 4″ x 6′ pressure treated post in almost 400# of concrete. We also fit a vinyl shroud over the post so that the church would never have to deal with having to paint the posts. We topped them off with a simple ball cap.  The internal signs were mounted to brick and drywall using 3M double sided tape.  This way if the church decides that they want to change out the signs, they won’t end up peeling the paint or even the drywall.

So if you need post and panel signs please call us at Optimum Signs. We can handle all of your exterior signage needs. We can be reached at 262.289.9481 or emailed at info@optimumsignswi.com.
