IMG_1271  I can’t tell you how many times I have heard “they don’t return our calls” or “they take forever to get us a quote” since starting in the sign business. It almost seems like everyone is so busy taking care of customers that they don’t have time to take care of their customers.  That was the problem that the folks at Cardinal Strich’s Fine Arts program had when they called Optimum Signs.

Over the past 5 years, the people at Cardinal Stritch have had a great number of projects done for the campus. Everything from perforated window film to parking lot signs to graphics on the floor and walls to banners galore. So imagine how out of place comments like those above seem.  Their new project was for the Fine Arts Hall.  In the past, they had printed up the play banners on a commercial copy machine and taped the signs into the windows.  Not only did this not give them the look that they wanted, the display started looking rather tattered after a short period of time.  Our challenge was simple: no semi-permanent adhesive as the windows were glazed with a low E treatment. This means that we had to have a media that would stick through the Wisconsin winters and be easy to remove. Almost seems like a contrary proposition.  Not for us.  We have used in the past, a white vinyl that has no adhesive, just a suction-like technology that holds the print tight to the window for up to a year. And according to the manufacturer, it will hold up in the coldest temperatures.  The vinyl holds ink beautifully especially when we print it at 180% ink coverage!  This provides a very deep image quality.

When we installed the windows, both inside and out, we had the objective of hand cutting each sign so that the clings fit each window perfectly.  And because of the low E coating, we couldn’t run a blade against the windows without damaging the glass.  But by using a very sharp blade and a straight edge ruler, we delivered on our customers expectations.  The signs will last the year and deliver the calendar for the performances through out the year.

So if you have to deliver a message through window graphics, please call us at Optimum Signs at 262.289.9481 or email us at info@optimumsignswi.com.  We have multiple solutions to the challenges you may be facing.   Perforated window film to static clings from framed window displays to etched glass, we can do it all.  At Optimum Signs, we will get you noticed.
