Custom Truck Wrap for Wisconsin Home Improvement

Posted in: Recent Projects

IMG_1212  When we started talking to our latest customer, Wisconsin Home Improvement, they already had a designer and a design, sort of.  They had just completed the design process for their fleet of box trucks.  The designer did a good job with the design, now we needed to modify the design so that it fit on the different length box trucks.  We also noticed that this box was two inches taller at the tail end than at the head end.  All slight modifications that were easy to make and maintain the design.

We started laying the vinyl panels at the back end of the truck to ensure that all the seams were facing the back. This helps to prevent the wind from peeling the panels at the edges.  We also hand trim all the rivets and apply heat to each one to help lessen the chance of the vinyl lifting up or tenting.  As we worked our way across the truck, we decided to trim the top of the design to maintain the level of the blue banner along the top of the design. This way the design looks level and we kept the design intact, especially because the designer had to work with Owens Corning as the Pink Panther is a trademark.  Everything down to our ability to match the correct color and hue of pink was questioned.  As you can see, we reproduced the colors exactly.

One of the other differences with Optimum Signs is that we hand cut all the hinges and door hardware.  We install behind the door hardware so that there aren’t any additional seams and tuck the vinyl around the hinges.  We also back cut the vinyl so that the edges are clean and adhere to the surface of the truck, and not the hinge hardware.  This takes a little longer but is the correct way to do this.  It also prevents the design from lifting around the hinges.  And because we use 3M materials, the colors will look great many years to come.

So if you have a single truck or a whole fleet of trucks and you need custom graphics or a complete wrap, please contact Optimum Signs at 262.289.9481 or email us at info@optimumsignswi.com.
