Custom Menu Boards for Huf North America on 3 mil Sintra in Milwaukee, WI

Surprise! The company has changed it’s internal policies and you are responsible to update the policy boards posted all around the manufacturing facility. Not a problem except that you currently use a very heavy poster frame that mounts to the back of the boards. Ouch, this could be expensive.  Not really, especially if you are working with Optimum Signs.

When we engaged with the folks at Huf North America, we encountered a little bit of skepticism about what we could do for them.  This was intriguing as we hadn’t done business with them, yet.  With time we learned that they had requested quotes from 5 other sign companies.  One was almost 600 miles away so I am not sure how they were going to provide the installation.  The skepticism came from the responses that they were getting from the other companies.  It turned out that we were the only company that wanted to see the location for the signs and asked for a face-to-face meeting.  We were also the only one’s to provide a version of what our proposal contained.  Once we showed that we were not like the others, we got down to the details of the project.  Huf North America has 15 different policy boards located around their facility and they all needed to be changed.  The cost to do so with the existing system was well over $2000.  We have had great success using the various thicknesses of Sintra in both white and black.  This was another opportunity to show how versital the product was.  We provided a sample of the material so that our customer could see that the product was very durable and provided a great surface to mount a policy board to.

Prior to placing the order we had to determine whether to use a matte or gloss finish. This was a pretty easy decision as the current boards have a high gloss finish. Because these boards are placed in the manufacturing facility, we decided to laminate the surface so the boards could be washed down without any worries.  The boards themselves were a standard 3 mil white Sintra, printed on 3M IJ35C and laminated with 3M’s 8508.  These boards will look great years from now no matter where they are.
