Custom Vehicle Graphics for Armstrong Construction in Milwaukee Wi

When our friends at Armstrong Construction contacted us via our website, they were uncertain what we could do to use their logo in a simple design for one of their trucks.  The design that they have doesn’t lend itself to a detailed printing as they have different layers to the design that caused the yellow to disappear.

We started with a file that was flat and without texture, except for the O.  The O was covered in two different textures that all but masked the yellow color. Even when we reduced the coverage of the textures, the yellow was all but disappearing.  Our designers had to remove the O and start over by drawing the O, coloring it, then adding the texture in small amounts until the yellow appeared through the design.  Now the design was clean and crisp and ready to be printed.  After we printed the decals, we laminated them to make sure that the design looks as  good three years from now as it does today.  This is a step that most sign companies skip as it adds up to 20% to the total cost of the print.  Optimum Signs will never cut corners to deliver a price.  So after laminating the pieces and cutting them out with our Graphtec plotter, we took the design to the production table.  Our designer weeded (removed the extra vinyl around the design) the print and applied application tape to the face of the design.

Next, we had to prepare the surface of the truck by wiping it down with clean water. After it dried, we repeated this step with rubbing alcohol to make sure that there wasn’t any type of residual.  Now the surface was ready to have the decals applied.  We measured three separate times from different points on the truck to make sure that we were truly level and square. All of this for a simple decal project.  These are the steps we take to ensure that your business vehicle looks the way it should.
