 When Heiser Chevrolet invested heavily in a new showroom and front entrance, they thought that they had covered all of their bases.  Permits, construction plans, subcontractors, floor tile, glass work, and on and on.  Imagine their surprise when the Fire Marshall stopped by to do an inspection and within the first 5 minutes they were told that they failed the inspection and that they had 48 hours to fix the problem. The problem was that the contractor forgot about placing the address on the front of the building in a proper size and placement that all emergency responders could see from the road.  That’s a problem.  But because of Heiser’s relationship with Optimum Signs, we were able to clear the issue and satisfy the Fire Marshall and our customer within the 48 hour window..  The interesting part of this job was that the new glass was treated with a special low E coating to reflect the suns rays and keep the heat in and the cold out.  This required special handling and special tools made just for this type of application.  No hard edges on any of the tools and even the hand tools had to be wrapped in a non-abrasive felt. But because we took the time to talk to the glass company to find out if there were any special handling needs of the new glass we discovered what was the correct way to work with this type of glass.  We also talked to the City of West Allis to see if we needed permits or if the City had any statutes regarding how we install this type of sign.  Because we have a professional relationship with the City, they helped us expedite this install.  We take every job we do seriously, even when we have to meet a very tight timeline.
