Banner Stands in Milwaukee, WI for Lutheran Science Institute

When the director of the Lutheran Science Institute talked to us about an upcoming convention that he was attending in Milwaukee, WI, his comments came as a surprise.  He had noticed that most of the prior exhibitors were fighting with their banner stands and he wanted to know what we could do about this.

After talking with Mark, it became apparent that he wasn’t going to be happy with the standard banner stand. He mentioned that the ones he had seen curled at the edges, were difficult to roll out, didn’t stand up straight and overall didn’t look good.  The designs were very basic and really didn’t tell the story that the exhibitor wanted to convey.  And of course, what could we do about this.  We took this as a challenge.

The first issue with the edges curling was an easy fix. Scrim banner material naturally will curl once tension is placed on the banner. The issue is that most manufacturers use the 13oz material to keep the cost down while sacrificing the appearance of the banner.  We decided to search out alternatives and find the right material for this application.  We found a coated, 8mil polypropolene banner material designed just for internal banner stands that will not curl, ever. That’s one down.

As for the banner stand being difficult to roll out and stand up straight we decided to have a face off. We brought in 5 different banner stands and put them side by side to see which one was the easiest to work with. Boy, were we surprised!  In a blind test, the banner stand that performed the best was also one of the most affordable banner stands. And to make it even better, it comes with a lifetime warranty on the internal mechanism. That takes care of the remaining issues.
