Posted in: Client Examples

So this morning, someone from marketing, just informed you that they are redesigning the logo and branding standards for the fleet that you are responsible for.  All of the vehicles. The vans, the pickup trucks, the small Transits and the large Promasters.  You should have the new graphics before the end of the month and management just told you that they expect the project to be completed before the start of the second quarter.  Now what? In a normal world, you would open a browser and search for sign companies that do vehicle graphics.  We all know we don’t live in a normal world.  Call and leave messages for multiple companies with no return calls.  You talk to people that say they will get you numbers for your project back to you “as soon as possible” but you never hear anything.  How can this be? You are literally standing there with a bucket of money asking these companies to take your money.  This is why we started Optimum Signs.  We respond the same day to web requests and we answer 99.8% of all calls.

When our customer came to us through one of our industry partners, they had very low expectations.  They tried to search for companies that could help them but they weren’t getting anywhere fast.  They reached out to their corporate contacts that directed them to a corporate approved vendor.  And the vendor brought them to us.  Our customer had a mix of old and new vehicles including a number of pickups that were delivered directly from the dealer.  They had vans and pickups.  All had to have the old graphics stripped off and a new package applied.  This is were things get interesting.

Whenever we remove vinyl that another shop installed, we find a variety of “interesting” things. In this case, the company used a translucent vinyl for the cut graphics.  Looks pretty good until you have to remove them. The adhesive on translucent is made to adhere to a substrate and allow light to pas through. It is not made to release any time soon.  The normal heat and peel method that we use to remove vinyl, didn’t even touch the adhesive. The vinyl let go but left the adhesive behind.  We had to follow behind with a paint safe adhesive remover. By letting the remover sit for about 10 minutes, we could get the adhesive to release.  It was a mess but had to be done to ensure that the surface was clean for the new graphics.

If you happen to be in this situation and you are tired of not getting return calls or emails, please give Optimum Signs a call.  We can handle almost any signage request and we will give you reasons to call us back.  We can be reached at 262.289.9481 or email us at info@optimumsignswi.com.
