Custom Truck Wrap What do you do if you own a franchise and the corporate offices announces that you have to change the wraps on your vehicles but they provide no guidance other than color? You call Optimum Signs and let us help you.

This vehicle started off with cut graphics across about 80% of the vehicle.  Most of the vinyl was past it’s normal life and had started to crack. When vinyl starts to crack that usually indicates that the adhesive is also done. When adhesive is past it’s functional life, it becomes a nightmare to remove as the vinyl will come off in small pieces and with the majority of this vehicle being covered in vinyl, we were in for a challenge.  We started off using adhesive remover. It’s paint safe and only targets the adhesive.  Not in this case.  The remover did almost nothing to remove the vinyl.  So, step two.  We brought out the eraser wheels.  An eraser wheel gently removes vinyl from painted surface without damaging the paint. It takes much longer to remove the vinyl but it gets the job done.  After we went through 6 eraser wheels, we had everything off the truck except the decals on the hood of the truck. The graphics were completely baked into the paint.  Even an eraser wheel only skipped off of the surface.  Now it’s time for step three.  We work with a body shop in Menomonee Falls that will help us out if we have issues like this.  We drove the vehicle over to our body shop and they were able to remove the decal from the hood.  Amazing what can get done when you know what you are doing.

The design had to be approved by corporate so that took a little time going back and forth between the owner and the marketing group but we got there.  Printing the wrap took about 3 hours with table time at just under 2 hours.  For the installation we used two installers and just over 4 hours to complete.  Everything landed exactly as it was supposed to and we had completed another successful wrap.

If you happen to have a vehicle or a fleet of trucks that you want to advertise your business with, please give us a call. We can take your design or help you create a new look. We can be reached at 262.289.9481 or emailed at info@optimumsignswi.com. We would love to help you with your project.
