Menomonee Falls, WI – Custom Box Truck Wrap for Wisconsin Insulation Services

Another repeat customer.  We have done work for Wisconsin Insulation Services for the past 5 years.  We have wrapped cars, trucks and created all of their office signage.  So we know what they like.  When they called us and said that they had purchased a new truck, we knew where to start.

Original designs for the trucks featured the Pink Panther which is a trademark use of Owens Corning.  Because of changes in the business, WIS wanted to move forward without the large pink creature.  We bounced a number of ideas off of them with a few elements standing out.  We took those elements and added a number of pictures that present who WIS is and what they do.  We settled on a picture of the spray foam gun as a large number of their jobs are for older homes.  Wisconsin Insulation can spray foam into existing cavities or they can open up drywall. With energy prices spiking now, I have a feeling that they are going to be very busy in the upcoming months.  Once we decided on the design, we had to look over the truck because this one had some interesting features.  Everything from force air vents, two man doors and a roll up back door.  Each door has two handles to assist one getting into the truck.  We thought it might make sense to remove the hardware, then wrap the box.  The problem was that the hardware has been on the truck for a fair amount of time so we couldn’t tell if everything would go back together so we decided against it.  Overall, we didn’t have to move any of the elements because of information distortion (that happens when a phone number or web address falls behind hardware).

The process to wrap a box truck like this is always the same: start at the front and work backwards. This makes the seams in the panels face the back so that the wind is always blowing over the seams, not against them.  The rivets weren’t terrible as these were the button rivets.  When it came to all the hardware we applied the panel then cut relief lines around the hardware. This way we could apply the vinyl around the hardware.  This also allows for any seams to fall behind the hardware. In a few areas we had to use primer to enhance the adhesive just to make sure the vinyl won’t let go.

If you have one box truck or 20 please give us a call. We can work with your artwork or help you create all new designs.  We can be reached at 262.289.9481 or emailed at info@optimumsignswi.com.
