Menomonee Falls, WI – Full Custom Print Install Van Wrap Commercial Sign Company

One of our regular customers, Capital Heating and Cooling in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, has decided to change their fleet graphics on all of their vehicles.  Six different body styles, 4 different manufacturers, and a few box trucks make up their fleet. 24 total vehicles all with the same design will take a little effort to ensure that the design is consistent.  This is what Optimum Signs does.

Our customer has been working with a design group for the past 10 years so they asked us if we could work with their firm. This isn’t a problem.  The firm has had a good deal of experience designing vehicle wraps which was evident quickly.  When we received the first art file, we noticed a few items that had to be addressed.  A number of colors in the design were based on paint colors. Some paint colors translate into wide format printing well, some do not.  There were three colors that didn’t translate.  We engaged the design firm and via a number of web calls, we were able to identify which colors they wanted.  We made the changes and printed a sample piece for the firm and the customer to approve.  It was fun observing the designers response when she received the sample.  She said that this was very nice to work with someone that knew what they were doing.  We try.

Once the files were approved, we sent the package to our production team.  Between layout and production, no less than 3 separate sets of eyes looked over the print to make sure their were zero errors.  One of the items that I truly emphasis to all of our team members is that quality is everyone’s job.  At all points in the process, any team member can stop the printing/production of a job if they see an imperfection or an error.  Next the print went to the laminator. We only use optically clear laminate so that the print looks like wet paint. But for those that want a more subtle presentation, we do use a matte laminate.  But this job was definitely calling for a gloss finish.  After spending the better part of the day on our production tables getting trimmed and cut into production rolls, that is to size for the installers, off it went to our installers.

This vehicle is a production vehicle for Capital Heating so any time that it is off the road it isn’t making money. So we decided to have a two man crew do the installation so we could minimize the time the vehicle sat.  In less than 6 hours, the van was ready for the road.
