Milwaukee, WI – Custom Painted Acrylic Lobby Wall Sign for Anderson Dental

There is nothing that says professionalism like a custom lobby wall sign.  When the folks at Anderson General & Implant Dentistry contacted us about the new, renovated offices, we had a great place to start.

The offices had just been remodeled.  A few new walls, new paint and carpet and the offices look great. So how to complement what was done? Lobby signs are so much more than just material stuck to the wall.  When we start a project like this, we start by comparing the logo/design to the interior space.  Color and design lines all impact what materials will work best.  This design screamed for custom cut acrylic.  We decided on 1/2″ thick clear acrylic to give the sign some depth.  Because of the complexity of the color on the logo, we went with a printed design.  It was just like a car wrap.  As for the name, we decided on painting them as they were all one color.

So now that we had the sign, how to install it? With acrylic, you really can’t use studs as the thickness of the acrylic would need to be close to 1″ thick to accommodate the studs.  Because we used a 1/2″ thick acrylic, we went with high bond, double sided tape.  We have the sign and we have a wall.  Optimum Signs prefers to work with a reverse stencil of the sign so that we can make sure it is installed exactly where it looks best.  We take the image of the sign, create a negative image, then cut it out of 20# roll paper.  Our plotter creates the perfect template to tape to the wall and install.  This also ensures that the spacing between letters is exact.
