It’s never been a better time for smokers to make the switch to vaping as it becomes more mainstream. Disposable vapes have become a very convenient and simple way to get a feel for the product. However, many people are unaware of the cost of disposable vapes and how it compares to the cost of smoking.

Examining the cost of disposable vapes and comparing it to the cost of a typical pack of cigarettes, we’re also looking into the benefits of using a disposable vape pen.

We looked at a wide range of disposable vapes on the market to compare the cost of disposable vapes to the cost of cigarettes. We calculated the average cost of five of the most popular disposable vapes currently on the market:

• PUFF Bar (200+ Puffs) – $8.99
• MOTI PIIN (300+ Puffs) – $9.99
• Cali Bar (300+ Puffs) – $7.99
• 270+ Puffs STIG Disposable Pod – $4
• A disposable vape costs on average $7.18.

All of the disposable vapes we looked at last for at least two hundred puffs, as you can see from the list above. Some even allow over 300 puffs (the equivalent of a pack and a half of cigarettes!). For the purposes of this comparison, we’ll use a 20-cigarette-per-day/200-puff-per-day smoking habit. This means that using a disposable vape costs around $7 per day on average. That works out to $49 per week and $2,548 per year. Of course, if you choose the least expensive disposable vape on the list, the cost drops dramatically; the STIG disposable vape would cost around $28 per week and $1,456 per year. It’s also worth noting that many of these disposables have a daily usage rate of more than 200 puffs, so this final cost could even be cheaper.

The results are quite surprising when we look at the average cost of a pack of 20 cigarettes. It obviously depends on the brand of cigarettes you purchase and where you purchase them. Here are  the price of Marlboro cigarettes in the United States and the United Kingdom:

• In the United States, a pack of 20 Marlboro cigarettes costs $8.
• In the United Kingdom, a pack of 20 Marlboro cigarettes costs $13.73.

So, in the United States, if you smoke 20 cigarettes per day, you’ll spend $56 per week and $2,912 per year. If you live in the United Kingdom and are a smoker, the cost rises to $96 per week and $4,998 per year.

Therefore, it goes to show that Disposables are Cheaper!
