Memphis, TN – Is Delta 8 Legal In Tennessee? – CBD, Tobacco and Vaporizer Store

Posted in: Industry News,Videos

First we need to quickly break down what delta 8 THC is. Delta-8 is a minor cannabis cannabinoid. In fact, the hemp plant from which it is commercially extracted makes up less than 0.1% of the chemical composition of the plant. Read this article for a more in-depth look at what Delta 8 THC is all about.

What makes delta 8 special is that it is a psychoactive cannabinoid. This is because it is the tiny sister compound of delta 9 THC, and delta 8 THC is of course, THC as well. This is the main reason why so many people are unsure whether or not it is safe to use – they know that delta 9 THC has been listed as an illegal drug for quite some time.

Delta 8 THC is psychoactive, but not as psychoactive as her big sister. Most people say they still feel absolutely clear, calm or uplifted when they take it, except with no unpleasant side effects such as fear or anxiety. In fact, many Delta 9 THC users say that Delta 8 THC is much better due to lack of side effects. Many people only earn Delta 8 THC benefits.

Delta 8 is also a cannabinoid, which indicates that like other cannabinoids, like CBD, it acts to help the capacity of the endocannabinoid system to control important body processes relevant to our overall well-being. Bear in mind that delta 8 is a compound that exists in a hemp plant, and that many of us ingest it without even understanding it. For example, if you’re using a full spectrum hemp product, you’re getting the trace amount in the plant content. The same goes for those that use flowers or concentrates that preserve the chemical composition of the whole plant.

So, why all this fuss? Hemp was legalized after all. Well the chemists have invented a way to remove delta 8 using different methods, thereby converting it into a concentrate. What this means is that, instead of consuming that tiny amount mixed in with all the other chemicals, consumers will now ingest a highly concentrated dose of pure delta 8.

Now you can understand that so many people don’t understand whether delta 8 is legal or not. After all, delta 8 is technically THC, which is the leading cannabinoid in marijuana, thus its federal status as an illegal drug.

Yeah, here’s the thing: legally at least federally. This is attributable to the Farm Bill of 2018, which declassified hemp as an illegal drug. Previously, cannabis was banned by the federal government, meaning that all types of cannabis, whether obtained from hemp or marijuana, is illegal to obtain, sell, possess, and consume. Yet the Farm Bill has come to pass, and the rest is history.

Thanks to the Farm Bill, we can legally buy and use hemp in all 50 nations. This means that we can consume any sort of hemp that we want, including extracts and concentrates of its individual compounds. The CDB is a perfect example of this. CBD is cannabidiol, the primary compound in cannabis. It can be used in several ways, along with, or on its own other compounds, in the form of isolates that provide highly concentrated doses of pure CBD rather than the full chemical composition of the plant.

So, the same principle applies to delta 8. Federally speaking, delta 8 is legal because it comes from hemp. The explanation why hemp is legal is that it contains no more than 0.3 per cent of total THC, which makes it legally non-psychoactive. As you know, states can bypass federal law, so while delta 8 might be federally legal, that doesn’t mean it’s legal in all 50 states. Some states have criminalized delta 8, and we’re going to cover the next ones.

Delta 8 THC is legal under state law in Tennessee. Like federal law, Tennessee expressly legalized all derivatives, cannabinoids and hemp isomers, including all tetrahydrocannabinols other than delta 9 THC.

Delta 8 is unlawful in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, Montana, Rhode Island, and Utah. In all other Jurisdictions, it is legal, but bear in mind that this is subject to change if the state legislature decides that it should be listed as a controlled substance. Therefore before taking delta 8, you should always comply with state regulations, as cannabis laws are subject to sudden change.
