Covid-19 Entrance Safety Notice Signs

As a small business I can tell you managing through Covid-19 has not been easy. In fact, to be completely honest it has been incredibly difficult, but we continue to follow the guidelines provided by public health and stay hopeful that we will flatten the curve soon and we can reopen our business and work on all the projects we had to place on hold.

When I think about reopening the business one thing remains paramount, and that is how do I keep my employees and my customers safe and healthy. There are many things I will do from extra cleaning and disinfecting, to having hand sanitizer, masks and gloves available and having crisp, clear signage about how to stay safe and signage that will protect every single person who walks in to my business. In this blog I want to address some of the signage you may want to have installed.

Floor Graphics

Floor Graphics are self-adhesive decals or stickers that can be applied to the floor. These can be custom printed and can have text or images or both. Floor Graphics can be used for many adverting purposes, but as you are planning to reopen your business following Covid-19, there are other important messages that you can communicate using floor graphics. One such message is physical distancing. By having floor graphics spaced two metres apart with “stand here” or “physical distance 2m” or images that depict that will help you to keep your customers and employees safe.

Another floor graphic that could be most beneficial are directional signs on the floor. These will ensure people are all walking in the same direction and prevent them coming into close contact with each other. This will also help with physical distancing.

Sneeze Guards

You have a great reception area, but your front line staff in the lobby or reception are exposed if they don’t have a sneeze guard. A sneeze guard is a clear acrylic barrier that will prevent droplets from going across, thus keeping both the receptionist and the customers safe. The employee will feel more comfortable as will the customers when you have a sneeze guard barrier. You may also apply a floor graphic that is 2m (two metres) away from the reception desk for further precaution.

Sneeze guards are also a good way to separate work stations and hoteling stations to keep employees safe.

Entrance Signs

At the entrance to your business you will want to remind patron of a number of important things. One thing to communicate at the entrance to your business is that employees and customers should not enter if they are sick. Another message is to remind people about physical distancing and keeping 2m (two metres) apart while inside the store or business.

Sanitizing Station Signs

It is a good idea to have sanitizing stations with hand sanitizer, gloves and masks with clear signage to keep the station neat and orderly and how to safely dispose of things like gloves and reusable masks. You may also decide to invest in washable cloth masks you can provide employees, which are better for the environment than single use masks. We can also do custom logos on the cloth masks.

These are all important things to consider as you are planning to reopen your business. Depending on your business, you will probably want to have one or more of the different types of safety signs listed above. Your local sign maker can print and install these signs prior to opening your business.
