Signage FAQs | Should I get a Banner or a Sign?

Posted in: Uncategorized

Most sign ordinances call for banners to be temporary and have set amounts of time they are allowed to be displayed.  Signs are intended to last for a long time.

Many new or moving businesses put up banners – Coming Soon, Grand Opening, etc.  Sometimes companies put up a banner with their name on it where their permanent sign goes and leave it, probably to save the cost of a permanent sign.  And good banners can last a long time before they wear out.  Owners may take the attitude that they will not change until the banner wears out or their landlord or sign enforcement makes them change.

The question to consider is “What does a banner sign over your business say about your business?”  The first impression is that you are new (does this mean that you have little experience and don’t know what you are doing?). The second customer concern is how long you plan to be in business (are you afraid you will close before a sign gets put up?).  A banner is always meant to be temporary. The need for a sign is obvious.

On the other hand, banners are great for temporary signs – advertising an event, pointing the way to an event, displaying your logo at an event, celebrating a birthday or anniversary, temporary location marker (Christmas Tree Lot), etc.  They are inexpensive and easy to install.

Whether you need a Temporary Banner or a Permanent Sign or you just need advice, please call Signs & More, Inc. (770-383-8808) and we will help you get out the message you want your customers to see.
