Signage Education | Lobby Signs – Display Your Logo

Posted in: Uncategorized

Is this the Right Office?

Do your customers ask this question when visiting your business? Does your lobby or reception area represent your business professionally? As your customers enter your lobby do they see your brand, your identity, your persona, YOUR LOGO?

There are many ways to reinforce your brand in your lobby or reception area. The Lobby Sign is most effective and should be behind your receptionist. Often there is a blank wall behind the receptionist’s desk or right in front of people when they enter your lobby. These are perfect areas to display your logo.

A nice looking and economical option is to use of painted ½” thick PVC letters held ½” off the wall with studs and spacers. This gives a nice 3-D look with shadows behind the letters and allows usage of customers’ PMS colors.

A more formal look is achieved by using brushed metal applied to the front of the ½” PVC (typically black). Contrasting colors (e.g. brushed silver and brushed gold) can be used for different colors in your logo.

In cases of intricate logos, flat lettering/logo can be placed on clear acrylic in corporate PMS colors or brushed gold vinyl. Using standoffs pulls the design away from the wall. Standoffs are often 1” long by 1” diameter spacers (depending on the size of the acrylic) behind the clear acrylic with matching caps.

For an impressive look, unique innovations combining all elements of sign design (dimensional letters, shapes, clear acrylic, cut vinyl, etc.) can be used. The least expensive option is to use cut vinyl as letters or shapes applied directly to the wall; this is also the least impressive.
