Signs Of The South Ribbon Cutting

Posted in: Industry News

Signs Of The South owner Mike McKeon and guests at our December 14th, 2017 ribbon cutting

Thursday, December 14th was an exciting day for Signs Of The South! We opened our doors to the community that we love so much to celebrate our ribbon cutting and open house. While Signs Of The South has been operating since 1984, it was recently purchased by Mike McKeon and we wanted to celebrate that move with the clients, vendors and friends who have been an integral part of that success.

We had a packed house, and a great time was had by all! Thank you to all our clients and friends who contributed, including:

  • The Decatur Chamber of Commerce
  • Mayor Tab Bowling
  • C and A Catering
  • Signs of the South
  • Driven Solutions, LLC

Mike McKeon is joined by City Council President Paige Bibbee, Mayor Tab Bowling and Chamber President John Seymour.

A huge thanks to C and A Catering for feeding all of our guests with a delicious breakfast!

Guests who attended were treated to a delicious breakfast by C and A Catering, a tour of our state of the art facility, as well as great friends and fellowship.

Mike and his wife Deb took the floor for a few minutes to share the story of how they came to be the proud owners of Signs Of The South. It is truly incredible to hear how far Mike and his family have come in such a short period of time. For years, Mike worked in the Aerospace industry, and while he loved his career with Aerojet Rocketdyne, he found himself moving his family from coast to coast far too many times. This proved to be especially hard for his teenage daughter who was starting to settle into high school. Mike promised her that she wouldn’t have to change schools again, however for him that meant a change in careers. Signs Of The South was born from that, and they haven’t looked back since.

Mayor Tab Bowling speaking about the community partnership between Signs Of The South and the city of Decatur.

During the event, Decatur Mayor Tab Bowling spoke about Signs Of The South, warmly re-welcoming us into the community, and he spent some time recognizing the quality of work the Signs Of The South is known for. We were also lucky enough to hear from John Seymour, the president of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce.  John spoke about the relationship that Signs Of The South shared with the Decatur community, and he reaffirmed the commitment that the Decatur Chamber Of Commerce has made to continue promoting Signs Of The South.

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone that came out to help make this a huge success! For those of you that stopped by, called, emailed or wished us good thoughts, we are extremely grateful. We are truly honored that, for the last 34 years you have allowed us to partner with your businesses and be a part of the Decatur community.  We look forward to the next 34 years with you!

It’s great to be in Decatur!! We hope you enjoyed your visit as much as we enjoyed having you here!!
