Louisville, KY – Business Coach Discusses Tips for Building a Productive Team

Posted in: Videos

Productivity is a word which is thrown around a lot in the business world. It can mean how many units a person sold, the number of products produced or a measure of return on investment, but in any case companies always strive for a more productive workplace.

Businesses chase all sorts of solutions to increase productivity, from implementing new technological innovations to hiring new people to trying new processes, but few companies look internally and try to address their team dynamics to increase productivity. While there is certainly a place for innovations and new ideas, simply building a cohesive team is a proven way to foster productivity and get the most out of your workforce.

My name is Jason Ballard and I am a business coach in the Louisville, Kentucky area. In my experience, I have worked with many companies representing different industries who had the goal of increased productivity. I have seen simple changes to a company’s culture impact the bottom line more than radical changes to process or equipment, and I can help your business find a new level of productivity as well.

Cohesion among a team is a powerful driving force for productivity. If your team knows they are surrounded by competent and supporting co-workers, they can truly thrive in their professional lives. Having the ability to depend on one another frees up employees to focus on their tasks and not worry about someone undermining them or letting them down, but instead they have the peace of mind knowing their teammate can and is willing to carry the load when needed.

Cohesive teams are not perfect, far from it. Cohesion is built through shared triumphs and learning from shared mistakes. Learning what works best in a given situation when working together creates confidence when the situation arises in the future, and a cohesive team knows which steps to take to work the most effectively as a unit.

This change does not happen overnight, but rather is the product of a positive company culture. If your employees are free to share feedback, can take coaching and clearly understand how their actions impact their teammates and the company as a whole, they are more likely to gel together in time and create a cohesive, high-performing group.

Check out the quote below from one of my recent culture evaluations regarding team cohesion. If your company culture can use an evaluation and tune-up from an experienced professional, I am here to help. Give me a call or fill out the form on my website to get started today.

Building powerful, productive teams really starts with clarity and it starts with simplicity. To be productive, you need to know what you’re doing and what it takes to get it done. “How do you know you’re successful when you do it?” so when you can continue to do it in a highly productive manner you can get better and better at doing that. And there’s a couple ways of doing that; how do you build a highly productive team? Well, first off I would say make them a cohesive team. The most productive and successful teams are cohesive teams.
