Bardstown, KY – Business Owners: Business Coach Offers End-of-Year Review Advice

Posted in: Industry News

As you develop your strategic plan for the upcoming year, you should review critical aspects of how the year has gone to get as much valuable information as possible. Conducting a comprehensive review allows you to incorporate invaluable information to develop a strategic plan in the new year!

With over two decades of running my business and serving my clients, I have developed a step-by-step process that allows a smoother transition into the new year with clearly defined plans and goals.
What Should Business Owners Review to Move Forward?

Get a business professional to conduct an assessment for data analysis! Hire a business coach or consultant as an objective expert to break down your operations, departments, and finances.

Use scores to determine how well you’re doing or what areas need improvement. This information will be critical in your strategic plan as you create goals!

Conduct a Year-in-review with your team where you’ll have some of the most important discussions and feedback about where your company stands. Be prepared to ask critical questions such as:

How was your previous strategic or action plan executed?
Why and how were some goals not achieved?
Who are your top ten competitors, and where are you? If you are not first or second place, what do your top competitors have that you don’t?
What were your threats and risks, and have they changed? Did you strategize around them?
Who excelled in performance? Who is not performing and is not reaching goals?

Review your vision and mission statements and your purpose to realign them with your business: as you experience growth, your vision changes with it!

Look at your priorities to confirm that they’re the right priorities moving forward.

Define the goals to achieve those priorities: remember to set SMART goals (specific, measurable, aligned, realistic, and timebound).
How to Communicate Your Findings
You should now have a comprehensive strategy rich with resources to inform everyone about their roles and responsibilities. Conduct a company call where company leadership can communicate the plan, provide resources, and conduct quarterly check-ins to confirm everyone understands company goals!
