Sprinter Van Gets New Wrap, Los Alamitos, CA

This Sprinter van, previously wrapped by Iconography a few years ago for a client located in Aliso Viejo, CA, was given an updated look with a new wrap at the Iconography facility  in Los Alamitos, CA.

The first order of business was to remove the existing wrap from the vehicle, which was not too difficult, as we had installed the original wrap using a high-quality 3M wrap material, as the customer had maintained the wrap well by keeping it clean and free of dirt and debris. Pollutants from the air as well as dirt and road grime can all have an impact on the life of your vehicle wrap. by keeping the wrap clean and dry, you can extend the life of your wrap by months or even years.

Previous Wrap Installed Several Years Ago

Sprinter van wraps are a bit different than your standard cargo van or other vehicle wrap. The reason is that the body panels on the sprinter vans have very deep grooves along the entire vehicle. In order to effectively install a full wrap on a Sprinter van that includes fully covering the deep grooves in the side panels of the vehicle, a special vehicle wrap material is required. We only use 3M’s IJ380 with a special UV matching laminate by 3M as well. The standard 3M IJ180 vehicle wrap material, when used on Sprinter vans, would need to have the material cut out of the grooves when it is installed, as there simply isn’t enough surface area along the ridges of the grooves for the material to adhere. If this process is not done, the material will eventually lift and bubble over time, causing the wrap to fail. There is a slightly higher cost for the IJ380 material, but it really is the only option if you don’t want to have the white grooves of the vehicle cutting up your full wrap graphic.
