Fleet Graphic Wraps

Project: Updated Fleet Graphics

Location: Fullerton, CA

Client: California Solar Systems

The process for updating fleet graphics involves three basic steps: design, production, and installation. At Iconography Studios, we manage all three phases of the project in-house, ensuring a seamless process from beginning to end, as well as consistency and quality.

Step 1: DESIGN: The design process starts with an overall graphic layout that will then be modified to fit the many different types of vehicles and body styles that are part of the customer’s fleet. Most wrap designs need to be altered in the layout stage if they are going to look good an be effective on vehicles ranging from large box trucks to small passenger cars. An effective wrap design is generally bold and simple, without competing elements. We recommend very limited text be included on the wrap, as well as few complementary colors. The artwork for the California Solar Systems fleet is a perfect example of a bold and simple vehicle wrap design.

Step 2: PRODUCTION: Once the design and layouts for all the vehicles have been finalized, production can begin. This step involves printing the material for the vehicle wraps. Fleet pricing and discounts can often apply when the entire fleet graphics production can be done at once. This saves both time and material during the printing and production process. Once the material has been printed, it is laminated with a UV film that will protect the digital printed film against fading, weather damage and minor scratching.

Step 3: INSTALLATION: Once the material has been printed, laminated and trimmed, it is ready to be installed on the vehicles. If the fleet had existing graphics, those will need to be removed and the surface of the vehicles prepped to remove any residual adhesives. Vehicle wrap installation is a skill that requires patience, expertise and knowledge of specialized tools that ensure the wrap adheres without bubbling, lifting or peeling. We always recommend working with a certified vehicle wrap installer who has been certified by one of the top agencies such as 3M or PDAA.
