Long Beach Photographer Uses Green Screen At Special Event On Catalina Island

Caught in the Moment’s green screen photography services continue to please and make New Year’s Eve special for the guests of the Santa Catalina Island New Year’s Eve Ball.  For the last several years we have been fortunate to end and begin the calendar year on Catalina Island working in the Casino’s ballroom THE signature event for the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce.

As is to be expected for a New Year’s Eve Ball, all the guests arrive dressed to the nines and to help them memorialize the event, the chamber brings us on board to provide them with prints and/or digital photography files of themselves in party attire to remember the evening.

The first year we brought our entire mobile studio setup complete with studio backgrounds.  For the the second year we opted to give the attendees a flavor of being in Catalina, more specifically in the casino.  If you’ve ever been fortunate to take a tour of the casino you might remember that on the mezzanine level among the historical exhibits there is a large panoramic image of the casino, so we used that as the backdrop.

After a couple of years of using the same background though we took it upon ourselves to keep improving, so the natural choice was to use green screen photography because then we could really flex our creative muscles in finding an image either of the casino, or more generally of Catalina Island for the background.

Year after year we see many of the same attendees, both Island Locals and visitors from all over the nation that have heard of this wonderful party; and year after year they come to us for their portrait and to let us know how much they look forward to it!
