Once the venue location is selected and the date of the special event secured a few other items to consider are security, transportation and promotion of the event.

  1. Plan for security. Security is an important consideration for any special event even if it were not taking place in and around Washington DC where there already is a heavy security presence. Work with the venue to develop a security plan that will meet the needs of your event.
  2. Coordinate transportation. If you are expecting a large number of guests, or if there are multiple venues such a host hotel and a different venue where other events might take place you will need to coordinate transportation to and from your event. Consider working with a transportation company to provide shuttle service or car service.
  3. Promote your event. Once you have all the details in place, it is time to start promoting your event. Let people know about your event through social media, email, and print advertising.  And of course make sure to document the success of the event by hiring an experienced conference and convention photographer that is familiar with proving special event photography coverage for corporate events.
