One of the photography studio’s clients is a hairdresser that has her own contained work space within a greater beauty oriented establishment.  In her particular case she really wanted to be proactive in her marketing efforts because not only is her profession required to make very specific modifications before the industry as a whole was permitted to once again accept clients, but in her specific case she was also transitioning from a more traditional hair stylist model to the the one she is currently in in that self contained space.

Essentially this client needed to convey two very important items of information to her existing clients and to prospective clients, that she was once again open for business and that she was in a new space and in a new setup.  Because her business is the type of business where she, the person and her personality are a big component of the business, she chose to put out all the new information with a new headshot.  With the new head shot she wanted to let her clients know that they could expect the same person and personality that they were used to getting but in a new environment, so she together with the head shot photographers of Caught in the Moment decided to have an outdoor headshot photography session where they visually convey that message of having the same person and personality that the clients are accustomed to but in a new environment.

As with any marketing effort, it is very important that the main message that wanted to be conveyed didn’t get lost.  The resulting portrait was a fun twist on the more traditional headshot.  Yes, it clearly showed the head and shoulders of the subject and yes it was a able to convey the subject’s personality but in this particular case it was taken in an outdoor setting and with a more playful posture that conveyed the sense that there was something different going on.
